Vaccinations offer important protection against common and sometimes deadly diseases throughout pets’ lives, but as our pets age and become prone to certain diseases, annual exams and bloodwork become even more important. Bloodwork to check liver and kidney values, along with thyroid function can alert our team to early changes and provide vital information regarding your pet’s health. Beginning exam and annual bloodwork when your pet is young and healthy gives us a baseline to compare to as your pet ages.
Early detection can help your pet live a longer healthier life and potentially help you avoid costly treatments in the future. We also highly recommend annual heartworm testing, general bloodwork and fecal examinations to ensure each pet is free of parasites and to monitor organ function in order to detect potential problems early. Our doctors don't follow a 'one size fits all' protocol for preventive health care, but rather treat each patient as an individual and recommend the best possible protocols for that particular pet.
